How to read a hospital bill
Hospital bills pack many lines into a balance due. Focus on service dates, total charges, insurance adjustments, and the amount they say you owe—then compare to your EOB if you have one.

Work top to bottom, then cross-check insurance.

- Admission / service dates
- Itemized charges (or request itemization)
- Insurance payments and adjustments
- Amount due and due date
